Philosophy with the boring parts left out...

In the 1600's Rene Descartes, the famous philosopher famously said..."I think therefore I am".  But that was 500 years ago.   Today we turn to the not yet famous philosopher Guru Eduardo for his wisdom on the subject.   You decide which you prefer?

Storytime...

A small group of followers had gathered to hear the great Guru Eduardo speak (don't laugh it could happen).

The Guru decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his lesson. So he placed four worms into four separate jars. The first worm was put into a container of alcohol. The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke. The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup. The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.
At the conclusion of the sermon, the Guru smugly noted the following results: The first worm in alcohol is dead. The second worm in cigarette smoke is dead. The third worm in chocolate syrup is also dead. The fourth worm in the good clean soil is alive.

The Guru paused for dramatic effect and then asked his students , "What did you learn from my brilliant demonstration?"

Ms Smarty Pants was sitting in the back, bounced to her feet with her hand waving and with great conviction and the pride that comes from the certainty she was right said, 'As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won't have worms!'"

I can make you happy...GUARANTEED!

No, I'm not going to give you money, I am going to give you something even better.  I call it a....

'Kindness Counter'

It is another of my brilliant inventions.  It could change your day or even your life if you would use it.   And because I like you sooo much, it's FREE!   Well actually, that's a tiny bit of an exaggeration.   The actual cost is one or two cents.   Interested?

I thought so.    So without further ado, let the bells ring out and the banners fly, it's time for the big reveal...

You can call it a piece of paper or an index card if you prefer.   I call it a....Kindness Counter.  Without the instructions it would be just a piece of paper but with it (and if you follow the instructions),  magic happens.

The Instructions (please follow them precisely)

1.  Write on one side...How many times can I be kind today?
2.  Then record on the flip side each time you show kindness to someone (yourself included)
3.  Before you go to bed, read your list and reflect on it.
4.  Sweet dreams.
5.  Repeat as desired.

Beautiful huh?   So, will you try it?   Your happiness is at stake.  It's fun and it's easy.   You have nada to lose and mucho to gain.   Why not take my 'Kindness Counter' for a spin.   I am on day 7 of my personal experiment with this and all I can say is....WOW, I am one happy Guru.

So what can you expect to happen?   The kindness (Love)  within you starts to grow.  Each day you feel yourself wanting to show more kindness than the previous day.  Pretty soon you are like Mother Teresa! Ok, that was my inner info-comercial coming out.     But the truth is; that it is fun and addictive.   And how can that not be a good thing?

Next we start marketing my 'Kindness Counter' invention,  to all of those poor unhappy souls.  With my ideas and your help, we are all going to rich in 2011!  Of course I realize that those 'do it yourselfer's'  will just go make their own.   But there are always some folks who are just too lazy to do it.

Resolutions that are fun and easy to achieve

"I have grand intentions and minimal willpower, thankfully that's not a problem"

Normally at this time of the year I would set about making resolutions that have little chance of being realized. Like everyone else, I have grand intentions and minimal willpower.

This year will be different!

This year I've decided that instead of trying to resolve a problem, I am going to build on a strength. So I asked myself...what do I love doing, that is good for me? Then my resolution will be to do more of that for the New Year.

I'm reasoning that I won't need willpower to get my resolution achieved. True, I won't be tackling any unresolved issues or problems, but at least I'm almost guaranteed success. And mostly, I won't be kidding myself with my resolutions.   I will be setting myself up for success instead of failure.

So let it be known that:

I will take more holidays.
I will visit more with friends and family.
I will write more on this blog.
And I will finish my book and publish it.

Cheers and Happy New Year's to you all

Guru Eduardo
